The Doghouse Competition was hosted by The Splashpaw Foundation in partnership with Carlos Moore Architect, PA. The event got local builders and partners to build doghouses and display them along the finish line at the Kreitzer’s Critter Corral Puppy Rescue 5k (2014). The competition was an exercise in rethinking Architecture for dogs and each build team was given a list of criteria to build around.
The doghouses were to be auctioned of with all proceeds going to The Splashpaw Foundation. So far 3 houses have been auctioned off (the car, the chapel, and the steel frame). The rest can still be purchased and we will help to get them delivered if you do not means to pick it up. Please contact us if you are interested with the house you want in a message. Most houses can fit any size dogs, although a few fit smaller dogs better. We are asking $150 with all proceeds benefitting The Splashpaw Foundation to help with surgeries or pet food.
Participants include: Carlos Moore Architect, Carlos J Moore, Buckhorn Builders, Kannapolis Construction Co, the City of Concord office, the Cabarrus County building department, GAR Engineering, Greg Snyder (professor at UNCC School of Architecture), Clint Miller Exterminating, and Kassie Watts and John McHenry
